be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Ministry has reviewed the progress of construction of National High-Speed Corridors and Greenfield Expressways during 2026 and if so, the outcome thereof;
(b) the status of ongoing and completed National High-Speed Corridor and Expressway projects, including the length awarded, under- construction and completed so far, State-wise;
(c) whether any measures have been taken to expedite completion of delayed highway, infrastructure and expressway projects through revised implementation mechanisms or contractual reforms and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;
(d) whether the Government proposes to connect upcoming Vadhavan Port in Palghar district in Maharashtra with National High-Speed Corridors and Greenfield Expressways, if so, the details of the ongoing projects and upcoming projects; and
(e) the number of National Highways for which the construction work has not commenced even after approval, State-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI)
(a) to (e) A statement is laid on the Table of the House.STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) to (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 63 ANSWERED ON 23RD JULY, 2026 ASKED BY DR. HEMANT VISHNU SAVARA AND SHRI DHARAMBIR SINGH REGARDING “NATIONAL HIGH-SPEED CORRIDORS AND EXPRESSWAY PROJECTS”.
(a) Government has established a framework for regular review of the progress of all on-going National Highway works including National High-Speed Corridors and Greenfield Expressways. This involves review at project, State and Central level in the Government involving all stakeholders including the State Government. This also involves technological intervention to identify issues/hindrance/delay at project level including under PMG (Project monitoring group) portal.
(b) A total of 10,389 km of National High-Speed Corridors has been awarded across the country, of which 4,809 km have been completed and 5,580 km is under implementation. The State-wise status of awarded length, under construction, completed and operational National High-Speed Corridor and Expressway Projects is annexed.
(c) To expedite project execution, the Government has undertaken various initiatives. These include streamlining and expediting land acquisition using “Bhoomirashi” portal and GIS-based Land Acquisition Plan, revamping “Parivesh” Portal through Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, to facilitate faster forest and environmental clearances, enabling online approval of General Arrangement of Drawings (GAD) of Road Over Bridge/Road Under Bridge (ROB/RUB) from the Railways, and leveraging the mechanism of review and resolution of bottlenecks/hindrances in ongoing projects, in active collaboration with the State Governments and other stakeholders.
(d) Yes Sir. Government has sanctioned 4-lane access-controlled highways having a length of 32 km to connect to Vadhavan port with Vadodara – Mumbai Expressway as well as NH-48 (Ahmedabad-Mumbai
section) at a cost of Rs.4362.39 crore on EPC mode. The work has been awarded.
