Parliament Question: National Highway-183A in Kerala

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No. 3058 ANSWERED ON 6TH August, 2026 NATIONAL HIGHWAY-183A IN KERALA 3058. SHRI ANTO ANTONY Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री (a) the present status of construction work on National Highway (NH)-183A in the State of Kerala; (b) whether there is an inordinate delay in completing the work on above Highway; (c) if so, the details thereof and the reasons for the delay; (d) whether the upgradation of existing road has been completed; and (e) if so, the details of work completed and the expenditure incurred by the Government in this regard? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (c) At present, no development or upgradation work is under implementation on National Highway (NH)-183A. However, maintenance works under Performance Based Maintenance Contracts (PBMC) and road safety improvement works are beingcarried out on various stretches to keep the NH in traffic worthy condition. (d) and (e) Strengthening and geometric improvement works from Km 27.300 to Km 32.940 and from Km 40.000 to Km 72.390 of NH- 183A have been completed at a total cost of ₹50.99 crore. *****
