Parliament Question: National Highway Projects in Murshidabad

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1938 ANSWERED ON 30TH JULY, 2026 NATIONAL HIGHWAY PROJECTS IN MURSHIDABAD 1938. MR PATHAN YUSUF: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS सड़क परिवहन औि िाजमार्ग मंत्री be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has conducted any assessment regarding the impact of the delayed completion of National Highway projects in Murshidabad district on traffic congestion, trade, tourism and connectivity in the region, if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Government proposes to sanction any additional funds or revise the completion schedule of the ongoing projects in the district and if so, the details thereof; (c) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised for these projects during the last three years; and (d) the time by which the Government expects all ongoing National Highway projects in Murshidabad district to be completed and opened for public use? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) The progress of all ongoing projects is closely and periodically reviewed at multi level i.e. at site, regional and central level including Ministry. Proactive steps are taken to resolve bottlenecks such as land acquisition, utility shifting, and statutory clearances in coordination with the State Government of West Bengal to ensure the earliest possible completion of the delayed projects.
