SHRI BHASKAR MURLIDHAR BHAGARE: Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has identified any Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)in Dindori (Scheduled Tribe) Parliamentary Constituency of Maharashtra for upgradation under the National ITI Upgradation Scheme; (b) if so, the number and names of such ITIs; (c) the details of the present status of infrastructure, civil works and equipment upgradation along with timelines for completion; (d) the details of the total number of trainees targeted for Dindori (ST) under the scheme; (e) the details of the actual enrolment, completion and dropout figures, particularly of Scheduled Tribe students; (f) the details of the number and percentage of trainees placed in industry, apprenticeships or self-employment; (g) the details of the names of industry partners associated with these ITIs; (h) the details of the nature of their contributions including equipment supply, curriculum support and placement commitments; and (i) the details of the additional steps taken by the Government to enhance access, hostels, stipends and retention of students from remote tribal areas of Dindori? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a) to (i) The Cabinet has approved the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM SETU) scheme to enhance the overall quality and relevance of vocational training in the country. The scheme comprises of two components: i. Component I – Upgradation of 1,000 Government ITIs (200 Hub ITIs and 800 Spoke ITIs) in a Hub and Spoke model, wherein upgradation include smart classrooms, modern labs, digital content, and new courses aligned to industry needs.ii. Component II – Capacity Augmentation of five NSTIs located in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kanpur, and Ludhiana, including setting-up sector-specific National Centres of Excellence for skilling, with focus on advanced training of trainers with global partnership. The scheme was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 4th October 2025. As per the Cabinet approval, selection of ITIs will be led the by State/UT Governments in consultation with industry ensuring alignment with emerging skill needs and local industrial potential. Accordingly, States/UTs are required to submit proposals for upgradation in collaboration with industry partners. The selection of ITIs will depend on the proposals received from State/UT Governments, subject to readiness and industry collaboration. As per the details received from Government of Maharashtra three (3) clusters in the districts of Pune, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar have been identified in Maharashtra in the pilot phase. No proposal for ITI/cluster from Dindori (Scheduled Tribe) Parliamentary Constituency of Maharashtra has been received in the pilot phase. Further, there are 50 ITIs in Dindori Parliamentary Constituency of Maharashtra, with total enrolment of 7,616 trainees, out of which 2,241 trainees belong to Scheduled Tribe category. *****
