National Mission for a Green India
696. SHRI RAJENDRA GEHLOT:
Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to
state:
(a) the details of proposed area, financial outlay and approvals accorded to the Annual
Plans of Operation (APOs) under the National Mission for a Green India during the
last three years, year-wise and State-wise;
(b) the State-wise details of sanctioned area, actual area covered under afforestation and
ecosystem restoration activities along with the details of actual location and district
wise data particularly for Rajasthan during the said period; and
(c) the details of funds allocated, released and utilised under the said Mission, year-wise
and district-wise particularly for Rajasthan?

(a) The National Mission for a Green India (GIM) is one of the eight Missions under the
National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) and aims to protect, restore, and enhance
forest and tree cover while contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation through
plantation and ecosystem restoration in selected landscapes. The Mission has been under
implementation since 2015–16 and is currently operational in seventeen States and one Union
Territory. The State-wise/year-wise details of Annual Plans of Operation (APOs) approved
under Green India Mission during the last three years, including area proposed, financial
outlay, and approval status, are provided in Annexure-I.
(b) & (c) The State of Rajasthan has not submitted perspective plan under Green India
Mission so far.
