INDRA HANG SUBBA Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री) be pleased to state: (a) the quantity of certified organic production under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) during each of the last five years, State/UT-wise; (b) the total quantity and value of exports of certified organic products from the North Eastern Region during the said period, State-wise; (c) the total quantity of certified organic production from Sikkim indicating the major commodities produced under the programme during the said period; and (d) the total quantity and value of certified organic products exported from Sikkim under NPOP during each of the last five years, indicating the major export destinations and commodities? (d) Organic Certification under NPOP is used mandatorily for exports and also for the domestic market. As per available records, no exports of Organic products, certified under NPOP, have been reported from the State of Sikkim, during the last five years. However, the NPOP certified operators of Sikkim have sold their certified organic products in the domestic supply chain and domestic transactions of around 292 MT of NPOP certified organic products, have been recorded in the last five years. The major transacted products include Green tea, Cardamom, Ginger, Turmeric etc. ***** 4
