NEW DURGAPUR LINK EXPRESSWAY

Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS

be pleased to state:
(a) the current status of the new Durgapur Link Expressway, which would
connect Bardhaman-Durgapur to the Varanasi–Kolkata Expressway corridor via
Bankura City including the timelines for completion and integration with the
main expressway network;
(b) the steps taken to ensure timely and fair compensation, rehabilitation for
landowners and project-affected families along with the Durgapur Link
Expressway and related road projects in the Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha
Constituency; and
(c) the initiatives planned or underway to enhance last-mile connectivity and
improve rural road access within Bardhaman-Durgapur to fully leverage the
benefits of the expressway network for local residents and commerce?

(a) to (c) Development of National Highway (NH) in the country is a continuous
process and Government keeps on undertaking Detailed Project Report (DPR) /
Feasibility Study to improve / widen / construct National Highway / Expressway
to improve the connectivity and integration with grid of National Highway /Expressway as also to provide last mile connectivity. Decision for project
implementation and investment is taken based on the outcome of Detailed
Project Report (DPR), requirement of connectivity, traffic density and synergy
with PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. As far as New Durgapur Link
Expressway is concerned, there is no such project under consideration by the
Government.
