Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of new industries and manufacturing units that have been
established in Maharashtra during the last five years, especially in Chakan,
Ranjangaon, and Khed industrial belts;
(b) the total number of jobs created by these new units and the steps being taken
by the Government to ensure that a significant portion of these jobs are offered
to the local youth;
(c) the strategy of the Government to attract further investment in the State and to
support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which have been
severely affected by the recent economic downturn; and
(d) the details of any special packages or incentives offered to industries to
promote skill development and employment generation in the Shirur
constituency?

(a) to (d): 'Industry' is a state subject. However, the Government of India, provides support
for promotion of industrial activities across the country including in Maharashtra.
The Government of India, through Department for Promotion of Industry and
Internal Trade (DPIIT) and other Central government departments provide an
enabling eco-system for the overall industrial development of the country
through appropriate policy interventions.
In addition to ongoing schemes of various Departments and Ministries for
industrial development, the Central Government has taken various other
initiatives for promotion and facilitating of setting up of industries across
States/UTs such as Make in India campaign, Start Up India , PM Gati Shakti,
National Industrial Corridor Programme, Production Linked Incentive Scheme
(PLI), promoting Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) , National Single Window
System (NSWS), India Industrial Land Bank (IILB), Project Monitoring Group(PMG), liberalization of FDI Policy, Uttar Poorva Transformative
Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI-2024) for North East States of India and
Indian Footwear & Leather Development Programme (IFLDP) etc which
facilitate setting up of major infrastructure projects across the country including
Maharashtra.
The Central Government supplements the efforts of the States/UTs through
various schemes, programmes and policy initiatives for promotion and
development and strengthening of the micro, small and medium enterprises
(MSMEs) engaged in the manufacture or production of goods or providing or
rendering of any service or services . These schemes/ programmes include
Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme, Credit Guarantee
Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises, PM Vishwakarma scheme,
Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme scheme, Micro and Small
Enterprises - Cluster Development Programme, Raising and Accelerating
MSME Performance, MSME Champions Scheme, etc.
Under the Government of India's Skill India Mission (SIM), the Ministry of Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship delivers skill, re-skill and up-skill training
through an extensive network of skill development centres under various
schemes, viz. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan Sikhshan
Sansthan (JSS), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and
Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) through Industrial Training institutes (ITIs),
to all the sections of the society across the country including Shirur
constituency, Maharashtra.
The State Government of Maharashtra has informed that a total number of 215
manufacturing units in various categories have been established in Chakan,
Ranjangaon, and Khed industrial belts in last five years, details of which are as
under:
Chakan Industry Area – 117
Ranjangaon Industrial Area – 66
Khed City Area – 32
The State Government of Maharashtra has also informed that a direct
employment of 25,551 has been created in Chakan, Ranjangaon and Khed
industrial belts from these Units.
As informed by the Government of Maharashtra, the following events have
been undertaken to attract investments:
(i) IGNITE (Industry - Government Networking for Inclusive Transformation
and Empowerment) Maharashtra.
(ii) Export Conclave
(iii) District Investment Summit.
The State Government of Maharashtra has declared new sectoral policies
namely Bamboo Industry Policy; Global Capability Centres (GCC) Policy;
Information Technology/Information Technology Enabled Services (IT/ITES)Policy; Gems and Jewellery Policy; Logistics Policy; Animation, Visual Effects,
Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality policy etc.
The State Government of Maharashtra has also launched Package Scheme of
Incentives, Cluster development scheme, Chief Minister’s Employment
Generation Programme (CMEGP) programs, which in turn helps in uplifting and
encouraging MSMEs.
The State Government of Maharashtra has also informed that various skill
development trainings are arranged by Government approved agencies
(MCED & MITCON) in all districts through which candidates are trained as per
their requirement in various sectors. These candidates are given handholding
support through various government schemes like Package Scheme of
Incentives (PSI), PMEGP, CMEGP and District Industries Centre (DIC) Loan
Scheme etc.
