NEW PM SVANIDHI SCHEME
NO. 1846. DR. C M RAMESH:
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be
pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has approved the new PM SVANidhi
Scheme;
(b) if so, the manner in which it is different from the existing one;
(c) whether it is true that the Government is planning to provide
credit cards to PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and if so, the
details thereof;
(d) whether the Government provides PM SVANidhi loans to rural
street vendors and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the number of street vendors benefitted from the above
scheme since its implementation, State/district and year-
wise?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE
MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS
(SHRI TOKHAN SAHU)
(a) to (c): Restructuring of PM SVANidhi Scheme has not been
approved yet.
(d): PM SVANidhi scheme is implemented in urban areas. However,
street vendors of surrounding development/ peri-urban/ rural areas
who are vending within geographical limits of the Urban Local Bodies
are also provided loans.
(e): As on 22nd July 2025, more than 68.11 lakh street vendors have
been benefitted under the PM SVANidhi scheme since its inception.
A statement showing the state-wise and year- wise details of street
vendor beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi scheme is at Annexure – I.
