Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is considering the construction of a
new rail line connecting Uttar Pradesh's Farukhabad district
to Mailani (via Jalalabad Shahjahanpur) with the railway
network;
(b) if so, the current status of the project and its start and
completion timeline and the budget allocated for it;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government has any alternative plan for
improving transport infrastructure in the area and if so, the
details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e): Farrukhabad and Mailani are already connected through
existing railway network via Kasganj & Bareilly. For further improving
the connectivity, survey for new line from Farrukhabad-Mailani via
Jalalabad & Shahjahanpur (158 Km) was carried out. The project
could not be taken forward due to low traffic projections.

Budget allocation in the recent years has increased significantly.
Budget allocation for infrastructure projects and safety works, falling
fully/partly in the State of Uttar Pradesh is as under:

After firming up of Detailed Project Report (DPR), sanctioning of
project requires consultation with various stake-holders including
State Governments and necessary approvals viz. appraisal of NITI
Aayog, Ministry of Finance etc. As sanctioning of projects is a
continuous and dynamic process, exact timelines cannot be fixed.
