SHRI ASHOK KUMAR RAWAT: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) the details of new railway projects sanctioned for Uttar Pradesh since 2020 to till date, zone, year and location-wise; (b) the number of projects of the said projects that are underway and their progress; (c) the amount spent on these so far, project-wise; and (d) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to complete these projects on time? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (d): Among the major modes of transportation, railway is the most environmentally friendly and affordable mode of transportation for the people of the country. However, due to under investment in Indian Railways, the growth of network expansion was very less before 2014 (about 60 years from independence). Due to significant increase in the investment in Indian Railways post 2014, there has been substantial jump in the growth of Indian Railway network.
