Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded that Mailani and Lakhmipur stations are served by 08 and 05 pairs of train services, respectively. Both stations are connected to Sitapur by 05 pairs of train services, including the 15009/10 Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express. Mailani and Lakhmipur are also connected to Pilibhit by 5 pairs and 2 pairs of trains respectively. Sitapur is connected to Delhi by 05 pairs, Amritsar by 07 pairs, New Jalpaiguri by 03 pairs, and Guwahati by 02 pairs of trains. Pilibhit is connected to Haridwar and Ajmer by 01 pair each, and to Delhi by 02 pairs of trains.
The introduction of new train services is an ongoing process dependent on section capacity, path availability, rolling stock availability, matching infrastructure, and maintenance requirements.

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to introduce new trains via
Lakhimpur station, Mailani Junction in Kheri district, towards Delhi-
Haridwar, Punjab, Agra, further towards Rajasthan and the Northeast;
(b) if so, the time by when these trains are likely to be operational and if
not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether there is any plan to extend the train running from Mumbai to
Sitapur (which is currently running) to Mailani Junction; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d) Mailani and Lakhmipur stations are served by 08 pairs and 05
pairs of train services respectively. Both Mailani and Lakhmipur stations
are connected to Sitapur by 05 pairs of train services including the
services of 15009/10 Gorakhpur-Izzatnagar Express. Mailani and
Lakhmipur stations are also connected to Pilibhit by 5 pairs of trains and 2
pairs of trains respectively.Sitapur is presently connected to Delhi by 05 pairs and to Amritsar by 07
pairs of trains. Sitapur is also connected to New Jalpaiguri by 03 pairs and
to Guwahati by 02 pairs of train services.
Similarly, Pilibhit is connected to Haridwar and Ajmer by 01 pairs of
services each while it is connected to Delhi by 02 pairs of train services
respectively.
Besides, introduction of new train services, which is an on-going process,
depends on various factors which include-
• Capacity of that section
• Availability of path
• Availability of required rolling stock
• Availability of matching infrastructure for rolling stock
• Maintenance requirement of railway tracks and other assets
