Will the Minister of CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION
be pleased to state:
(a) the current number of beneficiary families under the National Food Security Act
(NFS A) in Ujjain district and the increase registered in the number thereof during the last three
years
(b) the number of cases pending before the Consumer Forum in Ujjain district and the
average time taken for the disposal thereof;
(c) the efforts made for digitization, transparency and grievance redressal of the Public
Distribution System in Ujjain district; and
(d) whether the warehouses run by the Food Corporation of India or State Warehousing
Corporation in Ujjain district have limited storage capacity and if so, the details of the
Government's plan for setting up new storage units?

(a): At present, numbers of beneficiaries receiving foodgrains free of cost under NFS A in
Ujjain district is 1 1,99,012.
(b): There are 1312 cases pending in Ujjain District Consumer Disputes Redressal
Commission (DCDRC) as on 30.06.2025.
(c): As part of the technology driven Public Distribution System (PDS) reforms, with the
aim to improve the efficiency and transparency in the PDS, ration cards/beneficiaries database
have been completely digitized (100%) in Madhya Pradesh (including Ujjain). The
transparency portal and online grievance redressal facility/Toll-free number have been
implemented in Madhya Pradesh (including Ujjain). Also, online allocation and supply chain
has been computerized in Madhya Pradesh (including Ujjain).(d): The warehouses run by Food Corporation of India in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh
have capacity of 8792 MT.

In addition, there is one Silo of State Government in Ujjain of 50,000 MT capacity
