**Summary:**
In response to a question regarding National Highways in Gujarat being identified as Green Corridors under solarisation and Electric Vehicle (EV) freight movement initiatives, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated that no National Highway in Gujarat has been designated as such. However, provisions for solar panel installation for toll plaza operations have been incorporated into the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (NE4) and the Sanchor-Santalpur section of NH754K. Furthermore, 102 Wayside Amenities (WSAs), including 62 EV charging stations, are operational along National Highways and Expressways. According to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), 4557 public EV charging stations are available on all State and National Highways.
The Ministry also addressed green highway pilot projects connecting tribal belts to major routes. The Green Highways Plantation, Transplantation, Beautification & Maintenance Policy of 2015 is in effect, under which plantations are carried out along available median and roadside land of Right of Way (ROW) as per the Annual Plantation Action Plan, following Indian Road Congress (IRC:SP:21-2009) guidelines. All National Highway projects are subject to greening under this policy, which promotes the use of native species, awareness campaigns, and community participation, including engaging local communities and school children in plantation activities.

Movement Initiatives and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the current status of solarisation of toll plazas, rest stops and
electric vehicle charging stations; and
(c) whether the Government is working with State authorities for green
highway pilot projects connecting tribal belts to major routes and if so,
the details thereof?

(a) Government has not identified any National Highway in Gujarat as
Green Corridor under the Solarization and Electric Vehicle (EV) Freight
movement initiative.(b) Provisions for installation of solar panels for operation of toll
plazas have been made on Delhi - Mumbai Expressway (NE-4) and
Sanchor-Santalpur Section of NH-754K. Further, 102 of Wayside
Amenities (WSAs), having 62 Nos. of EV charging stations, have been
operationalized along National Highways and Expressways. As per the
data provided by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), 4557 public EV
Charging Stations are available on all the State and National
Highways.
(c) The Government, has issued Green Highways (Plantation,
Transplantation, Beautification & Maintenance) Policy, 2015 wherein
plantations are carried out along available surplus median and
roadside land of ROW as per Annual Plantation Action Plan in
conformity with Indian Road Congress (IRC):SP:21-2009 Guidelines. As
per the Green Highways Policy, 2015, all the National Highways
Projects are taken up for greening. The policy envisages several steps
such as use of native species, awareness campaigns, etc. to enhance
sustainability and community participation including engaging local
communities and school children in the plantation activities.
