## Policy Summary: Proposed National Highway in Dharashiv, Maharashtra
This document summarizes the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 828, concerning a proposed National Highway (NH) in Dharashiv, Maharashtra, specifically the road from Vashi Phata (NH211) to DasmegaonMandwaMohaKhamsawadiGovindpur Phata.
The Ministry confirms that it receives proposals from State Governments and Union Territories for the declaration and upgradation of state roads as new National Highways. Decisions are based on principles of connectivity needs, traffic density, inter-se priority, and synergy with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP).
Currently, there is no proposal under consideration to declare the specified road in Dharashiv as a National Highway for subsequent development. However, acknowledging the connectivity needs and alignment with the PM GatiShakti NMP, the development of the Surat-Nasik-Chennai High-Speed corridor, which traverses rural areas of Dharashiv District, has been undertaken.
The response was provided by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, on July 24, 2025.
