NON-ACCEPTANCE OF RETRO-FITMENT OF EV KIT
2175. SHRI ANIL KUMAR YADAV MANDADI:
Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) reasons for non-acceptance of the proposal of the State Government of Telangana’s ambitious
retro-fitment of EV kit which is a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to conventional
vehicles;
(b) whether Government will henceforth come forward to extend financial support to the
initiative under any of its scheme; and
(c) if so, details thereof and, if not, reasons therefor?

(a), (b) & (c) The Government has notified G.S.R. 167(E) dated 1st March, 2019, for retro-
fitment of hybrid electric system or electric kit to motor vehicles or conversion of motor vehicles
for pure electric operation with fitment of pure electric system kit.
There is no proposal for extending financial support to the State of Telangana for the
retrofitment scheme.
