Parliament Question: Non-stoppage of trains at Tirur Railway Station

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS RAJYA SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 76 ANSWERED ON 06.02.2026 NON-STOPPAGE OF TRAINS AT TIRUR RAILWAY STATION *76 SHRI HARIS BEERAN: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether Government has taken notice of unfortunate situation of the neglect towards Tirur Railway station where a district centre of Malappuram does not have a single stoppage for 30 trains that are passing through the Tirur Railway Station; (b) if so, the details thereof, and the reasons for non-stoppage of these trains; (c) whether Government is aware of the fact that premium trains like Vande Bharat and Rajadhani Express have a stoppage in all other district headquarters except Malappuram District; and (d) if so, the details thereof, and the reasons therefor? Besides, provision of stoppages of train services depends on the traffic justification, operational feasibility including availability of extra time on the section & availability of matching infrastructure such as Platform length etc. *****
