Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state that:-
(a) whether it is a fact that the Government has launched Nuclear Energy Mission to achieve
100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047 and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether any project is proposed under this Mission in Bihar also;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the quantum of power likely to be provided to Bihar from the proposed nuclear power
plant in the State and the time by which the said project is likely to be completed?

(a) Yes. The Government has announced an ambitious Nuclear Energy mission with a target
of reaching a nuclear power capacity of 100 GW by 2047. The Government has also
announced measures for enabling R&D in SMRs and new advanced technologies.
(b) to (d) Department of Atomic Energy is exploring potential sites in Bihar for setting up
nuclear power plants in the country. The quantum of power to be generated and timelines
would only emerge after finalisation of project proposals.
