The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), Government of India, organized the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 to stimulate trade and investment in the North Eastern Region. The summit, along with pre-event roadshows, generated investment interest totaling ₹4.48 lakh crore through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), letters of intent, and qualified leads from private investors, public sector undertakings, and major industrial conglomerates. Renewable energy projects in the North East region include: the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (379,074 rooftop solar applications sanctioned, 27,768 systems installed as of July 24, 2025); PM KUSUM Component A (7 MW sanctioned as of June 30, 2025); PM KUSUM Component B (21,745 solar pumps sanctioned, 5,829 installed as of June 30, 2025); PM KUSUM Component C: Individual Pump Solarisation (3,600 grid-connected solar pumps sanctioned, 285 solarized as of June 30, 2025); Solar Parks (20 MW sanctioned and installed as of June 30, 2025); PM JANMAN (1,703 households sanctioned for off-grid electrification, 310 electrified as of June 30, 2025); and the Biogas Programme (5,300 biogas plants sanctioned, 916 plants as of June 30, 2025).

Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 to catalyze trade and investment in the
North Eastern Region. The focus sectors of the summit identified for attracting
investment in the North Eastern Region were Tourism and Hospitality; Agro-Food
Processing & allied sectors; Textiles, Handloom and Handicrafts; Healthcare;
Education and Skill Development; IT/ITeS; Entertainment & Sports; Infrastructure
and Logistics; and Energy. Collectively, the Summit and its pre-event roadshows
