Parliament Question: Official Complimentary Travel in Luxury Trains

SHRI MATHESWARAN V S: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government received any representation from Members of Parliament regarding unsatisfactory reply given by Railway Ministry to unstarred question number 4156 answered on 18.03.2026 and if so, the details thereof; and (b) the details of railway officials along with name, designation and class of travel who availed complimentary travel in luxury trains like Palace on Wheels, Maharajas' Express and Deccan Odyssey from 2014 to till date, year-wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (b): In the reply given to Unstarred Question No. 4156 dated 18.03.2026, it was mentioned that the Railway officials are entitled to travel in Indian Railway trains with their families in accordance with Railway Pass Rules. In addition, the details of Railway officials travelled in Palace on Wheels, Maharajas’ Express and Deccan Odyssey during last 12 years in accordance with extant guidelines are as under: Palace on Wheels: Total Passengers travelled (nos.)
