(a) the number of Vande Bharat trains operating across the various
States of the country, particularly in Maharashtra and Madhya
Pradesh, Zone-wise;
(b) the benefits derived/profit earned by the Government by increasing
the number and frequency of Vande Bharat trains;
(c) the details of the number of trains which have been rescheduled to
make room for Vande Bharat trains, train category and zone-wise;
(d) the number of passengers availing Vande Bharat train services
along with the number of Vande Bharat trains running at full passenger
capacity presently, zone-wise; and
(e) the details thereof, particularly of Maharashtra and Madhya
Pradesh?

(a) to (e) Indian Railways have introduced Vande Bharat services
which are semi-high speed trains and are aimed to provide bettertravel experience and improved safety to the passengers. These
services are equipped with enhanced safety features and modern
passenger amenities like-
I. KAVACH system
II. Faster acceleration
III. Fully Sealed Gangway
IV. Automatic Plug Doors
V. Better Ride Comfort
VI. Mini Pantry with provision of Hot Case
VII. Bottle Cooler
VIII. Deep freezer & Hot water Boiler
IX. Reclining Ergonomic Seats
X. Comfortable Seating with revolving seats in executive class
XI. Mobile charging sockets for every seat
XII. Special lavatory for Divyangjan passengers in Driving Trailer

As on 31st July, 2025, 144 Vande Bharat train services are operational
on the Broad Gauge (B.G.) electrified network of Indian Railways(IR).
As the Railway network straddles across state boundaries, trains are
introduced, as per network requirement, across such boundaries.
However, on originating/terminating basis, 22 Vande Bharat train
services and 8 Vande Bharat train services are catering to the needs
of various stations located in the State of Maharashtra and Madhya

On IR, passenger train services, including Vande Bharat services, are
operated as per charted time table and General Order of Precedence
of Trains, without infringing other services and all efforts are made to
run trains as per their schedule.
The total number of passengers who travelled in Vande Bharat
express trains in 2024-25 and 2025-26(upto June,2025) is
approximately 3 crores and 93.3 lakhs respectively. The overall
occupancy of Vande Bharat express trains during 2024-25 & 2025-26
is 102.01% & 105.03% respectively.
Revenue earned due to increase in number and frequency from any
trains is subsumed in Passenger revenue of Indian Railways. However,
the total Passenger Revenue in the last five years is as under:-
