Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) the number of airports inaugurated by the Government across the country, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar during the last five years, year and district-wise;
(b) the details of those airports where flight operations have commenced, State and district-wise; and
(c) the details of the airports where flight operations have not commenced till date, State and district-wise? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol)
(a): During the last five years, eleven (11) airports have been inaugurated in the States of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar, namely, Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh in 2021, Deoghar in Jharkhand in 2022, Kanpur and Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh in 2023, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti and Sarsawa in Uttar Pradesh in 2024 and Purnea in Bihar in 2025.
(b) & (c): Out of the above airports, scheduled flights are presently operational at Deoghar in Jharkhand, Kanpur and Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and Purnea in Bihar.
The rest of the airports do not have scheduled flight operations as on date. *****
