HEMANG JOSHI SHRI JANARDAN MISHRA Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:- (a) the total number of nuclear power plants operational in the country and total capacity thereof; (b) the details of the projects which are under the various stages of construction; (c) the total installed capacity (in MW) which is envisaged to reach after the completion of the above projects; (d) whether it is a fact that the Tarapur Atomic Power Station in Palghar district in Maharashtra is facing operational challenges and delays, particularly with its reactors undergoing refurbishment and if so, the details thereof; and (e) the present status of the proposed nuclear power plant in Banswara district of Rajasthan along with the total capacity thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES & PENSIONS AND PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH) (a) Presently, the installed nuclear power capacity in the country comprises of 24 reactors with a total capacity of 8780 MW, excluding RAPS-1 (100 MW), which is under long term shut down.
