(a) whether it is a fact that DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the
Mumbai-Nagpur High Speed Rail project was submitted in the year 2023
and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government approval is still pending and if so, the
details including current status thereof and the reasons for delay and
expected timeline for approval;
(c) the details of current status of the 309-km Manmad-Indore Line
project including status of the land acquisition and expected timeline for
the completion of project;
(d) whether it is a fact that DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the Dhule
(Borhivir) Nardana railway line was sanctioned on 31.01.2019 and if so,
the details thereof;
(e) the details of current status of project including status of land
acquisition and expected timeline for completion of project; and
(f) the details of status of the Nashik metro announced in Budget 2021

(a) to (f): Presently, Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR)
Project (508 Kms) is the only sanctioned project of High Speed Rail in
India under execution with technical and financial assistance from
Government of Japan.

HSR project are highly capital intensive and any decision for taking up
new project is based on many factors such as technical feasibility,
financial & economic viability, traffic demand and availability of funds &
financing options etc. Presently, railways is focused on execution of the
first high speed rail project.
Indore-Manmad (309 Km, except Dhule-Nardana) new line project was
sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 16,321 crore. Budget outlay of Rs. 268 crore
has been provided for the year 2025-26. Further, Land acquisition work
is in progress. Around 170 Ha land has to be acquired for the project.
Dhule (Borvihir)-Nardana New Line (51 km) Project was sanctioned at a
cost of Rs. 493 crore. An expenditure of Rs. 187 crore has been incurred
upto March, 2025. Budget outlay of Rs. 128 crore has been provided for

302 Ha Land required for the project, 293 Ha Land has been acquired.
As per Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Detailed Project Report
(DPR) for Nashik Metro has been prepared. However, Metro Projects are
cost intensive projects requiring extensive examination at different level
in Central Government and the approval of such proposal is dependent
upon feasibility of proposal and availability of resources to ensure long
term sustainability of such projects.
Completion of Railway project depends on various factors such as land
acquisition by State Government, forest clearance by officials of forest
department, shifting of infringing utilities, statutory clearances from
various authorities, geological and topographical conditions of area, law
and order situation in the area of project site, number of working months
in a year for particular project site due to climatic conditions etc. All
these factors affect the completion time and cost of the project.
