GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 505 TO BE ANSWERED ON 03.12.2025 PIT LINE/YARD SERVICES AT THAWE JUNCTION 505. DR. ALOK KUMAR SUMAN: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that Thawe junction has three platforms, watering hydrate, charging, surveillance light/checking of rolling-in or rolling-out services needs construction of pit line/yard services to start the super fast train services from Thawe to New Delhi and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether it is a fact that more than 200 buses ply from this area which caters the need of passengers which are railway passengers causing revenue loss to Railway and if so, the details thereof; (c) the measures taken by the Government to prevent revenue loss of Railway due to non-availability of super fast train from Thawe junction; (d) whether repeated reminders and letters from concerned Hon'ble Member of Parliament are not considered by the Railway and if so, the reasons therefor; and (e) whether the Railways is not giving proper reply to the previous questions asked regarding same issue and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (e) Pit Line/Yard services are planned and executed as per operational and maintenance requirement. At present, three platforms are available at Thawe junction along with watering facilities, rolling in/out facilities, charging, and inspection light facilities. Further, pit line facilities are available at Chhapra, Mau, Contd…2/-:2: Ballia, Azamgarh, Ghazipur city, Varanasi City and Banaras which are sufficient to meet the current and near future requirements of Thawe and its nearby areas. Presently, Thawe is being served by 36 train services including 12 Mail/Express services catering to the needs of an average 5264 passengers per day and connecting it to various destinations like Patna, Gorakhpur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Amritsar etc. Recently 15133/15134 Chhapra-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express has been introduced, which provides connectivity between Thawe and Delhi. Further, 19045/46 Surat-Chhapra Tapti Ganga Express has also been extended to Thawe. Besides, introduction of train services is an ongoing process on Indian Railways subject to operational feasibility, traffic justification, availability of resources, competing demands, etc. Representations/requests, both formal and informal, are received from State Governments, Ministries of Central Government, Elected Representatives, Consultative Committees etc. by the Railways at various levels including Railway Board, Zonal Railways, Divisional office etc. As receipt of such representations/requests is a continuous and dynamic process, centralized compendium of such representations/requests is not maintained. However, the representation/request etc. are dealt as per laid down procedure/guidelines and action as found feasible and justified is taken from time to time. *****
