PLI SCHEME FOR AUTOMOBILE AND AUTO COMPONENTS IN UTTAR
PRADESH
2488. SMT. GEETA ALIAS CHANDRAPRABHA:
Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for automobile and auto
components has attracted investment and enhanced manufacturing capacity at the national
level;
(b) if so, the number of approved applicants, investment commitments and production
outcomes reported for Uttar Pradesh; and
(c) whether district-wise data for Auraiya indicates any ancillary manufacturing activity,
employment generation or participation in the supply chain linked to the scheme?

(a): Government approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile
and Auto Component Industry in India (PLI-Auto scheme) on 15.09.2021 for enhancing
India's manufacturing capabilities for advanced automotive technology (AAT) products. As
on 31.12.2025, an investment of ₹39,081 crore has been made by approved applicants (Auto
OEMs & component manufacturers) to boost domestic manufacturing of AAT products.
(b): In the state of Uttar Pradesh, 7 approved applicants have 14 manufacturing units with
cumulative investment of Rs. 286.29 crore till 31.12.2025.
(c): There is no manufacturing unit set up in Auraiya under the PLI Auto scheme.
