GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRIES RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 2488 ANSWERED ON 13.03.2026 PLI SCHEME FOR AUTOMOBILE AND AUTO COMPONENTS IN UTTAR PRADESH 2488. SMT. GEETA ALIAS CHANDRAPRABHA: Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state: (a) whether the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for automobile and auto components has attracted investment and enhanced manufacturing capacity at the national level; (b) if so, the number of approved applicants, investment commitments and production outcomes reported for Uttar Pradesh; and (c) whether district-wise data for Auraiya indicates any ancillary manufacturing activity, employment generation or participation in the supply chain linked to the scheme? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a): Government approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry in India (PLI-Auto scheme) on 15.09.2021 for enhancing India's manufacturing capabilities for advanced automotive technology (AAT) products. As on 31.12.2025, an investment of ₹39,081 crore has been made by approved applicants (Auto OEMs & component manufacturers) to boost domestic manufacturing of AAT products. (b): In the state of Uttar Pradesh, 7 approved applicants have 14 manufacturing units with cumulative investment of Rs. 286.29 crore till 31.12.2025. (c): There is no manufacturing unit set up in Auraiya under the PLI Auto scheme. *******
