The Ministry of Steel addressed Unstarred Question No. 2578 regarding the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Specialty Steel in Madhya Pradesh, for answer on 16.12.2025. As of that date, two rounds of applications for the PLI Scheme for Specialty Steel have been concluded, with 44 projects from 19 companies participating in the first round and 42 projects from 25 companies participating in the second round. PLI SCHEME FOR SPECIALTY STEEL IN MADHYA PRADESH
2578. SHRI GANESH SINGH:
Will the Minister of STEEL be pleased to state:
(a) the number of units benefited so far under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI)
Scheme for specialty steel;
(b) the number of units proposed or operational under this scheme in Madhya
Pradesh, especially in Satna district; and
(c) whether the Government proposes to make any special provision to ensure skill
training and employment for the local youth under this scheme?

a) In Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Specialty Steel, two rounds of
applications have been concluded so far. 44 projects from 19 companies and 42
projects from 25 companies are participating in the first and second rounds,
respectively.
(b) There is no unit under PLI Scheme in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh.
(c) The scheme was approved to promote the manufacturing of “Specialty Steel”
within the country by attracting capital investment, generate employment and promote
technology up-gradation in the steel sector.
