GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 324 TO BE ANSWERED ON 21.07.2026 PM-ANUSUCHIT JAATI ABHYUDAY YOJANA 324. SHRI RAJA A: Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether the Ministry has assessed the progress made under the PM-Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) across its three earlier schemes, consolidated under this scheme; (b) if so, the details of allocation and utilisation of funds under the scheme, State-wise; (c) the total number of SC-dominated villages developed as Adarsh Gram in Tamil Nadu; (d) whether the Ministry has evaluated poverty reduction in SC communities, improvement in school enrolment and livelihood gains in aspirational districts and SC-dominated blocks, if so, the details thereof; and (e) whether any blueprint to enlarge the coverage with enhanced grants-in-aid for comprehensive livelihood projects and infrastructure development, education access and improving socio-economic conditions of SC communities? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT (SHRI RAMDAS ATHAWALE) (a) :Centrally Sponsored Scheme Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM- AJAY) has been evaluated through the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog. The evaluation covered all three components of the scheme Le. Adarsh Gram, Grants-in-aid and Hostel, across multiple States and assessed its relevance, effectiveness and outcomes. The study found that PM-AJAY is aligned with the National Development priorities and has contributed to improvement in basic infrastructure, educational access and socio-economic conditions of Scheduled Caste communities. (b): Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, was launched in 2021-22. The details of State/UT wise fund released/utilized are at Annexure. (c) : Since 2018-19, 3,112 villages have been identified out of which 3,111 villages have been declared as Adarsh Gram in the State of Tamil Nadu.(d): The Evaluation study, conducted by NITI Aayog, assessed the scheme's outcomes relating to socio-economic development of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities. The evaluation covered 13 States including several Aspirational districts among others. The findings indicated improvement in access to basic amenities and social services in SC dominated villages, including high coverage of electricity connections, institutional deliveries and bank accounts. The findings also indicated improvement in school enrollment among SC communities and positive livelihood outcomes, (e): The Department has proposed continuation of the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) for the period 2026-27 to 2030-31 with an enhanced outlay to further expand the coverage and strengthen livelihood and infrastructure interventions for the socio-economic development of Scheduled Castes.Annexure Annexure in respect of part (b) of the reply to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 324 on PM-Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana Fund released under three components of PM-AJAY scheme since 2021-22 upto 2025-26.
