Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of electric buses operational, under procurement and pending
deployment under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme, year, State and district-wise;
(b) the details of the total funds sanctioned, allocated and disbursed for the
implementation of the scheme in Uttar Pradesh including district-wise
details of the expenditure incurred towards bus procurement, charging
infrastructure and depot readiness;
(c) whether the Government monitors the status of electric bus charging
infrastructure availability and grid integration readiness in each approved
district and if so, the status thereof; and
(d) whether the Government maintains data on the average time taken from
sanction to on-road deployment of electric buses in each district of Uttar
Pradesh and if so, the details thereof since inception of the scheme, district-
wise?

(a) Government of India has launched "PM-eBus Sewa Scheme" on 16th
August 2023 with the aim to augment city bus operations by deployment of
10,000 electric buses on PPP model. Deployment and operation of electric
buses under the scheme is subject to the completion of work related to
Associated Infrastructure (Behind-the-Meter Power and Civil Depot
Infrastructure). A total of 7293 buses has been sanctioned so far out of
which 6518 buses have been tendered. The State-wise, year-wise details of
number of buses sanctioned and tendered under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme
are given in Annexure-I.
(b) to (d) The State of Uttar Pradesh has not participated in the Scheme thus
far; therefore, no funds have been sanctioned to Uttar Pradesh under the PM-
eBus Sewa Scheme.

Under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme, one-time 100% Central Assistance (CA)
is provided for Behind-the-meter (BTM) power infrastructure for sanctioned
depots.
The scheme adopted Gross Cost Contract model under which operator
provides Chargers along with deployment of buses. City submits BTM
proposals including grid integration readiness in consultation with the
respective Distribution companies (DISCOM). Project Monitoring and
Evaluation Committee (PMEC) set-up under PM-eBus Sewa Scheme
evaluates the infrastructure proposals submitted by States/UTs and
monitors progress thereof.
