Shri Arvind Dharmapuri: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the number of PM SHRI schools approved in the country and the criteria used for their selection particularly in Telangana district-wise; (b) whether learning outcomes and digital adoption in PM SHRI schools have improved as compared to non-PM SHRI schools or pre-upgradation baseline and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether the Government proposes to expand PM SHRI School Scheme coverage in Telangana, especially in rural and aspirational districts; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a): Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) is a centrally sponsored scheme which aims to strengthen more than 14,500 schools across the country out of which 13,076 schools have been selected as PM SHRI schools from 33 States/UTs along with KVS/NVS/NCERT. Of these, 794 PM SHRI schools have been selected from State of Telangana. The district wise list of number of PM SHRI Schools in the State of Telangana is attached as Annexure I. The criteria adopted by the Government for selecting the schools under the PM SHRI scheme are provided under “Selection Methodology” of the PM SHRI Framework, available at the link: https://pmshri.education.gov.in/assets/pdf/part1_pmshri.pdf. (b): PM SHRI scheme has a provision to incorporate digital learning in PM SHRI schools by establishing ICT labs, smart classrooms, computer labs, internet facility and digital libraries along with digital educational content. Platforms like DIKSHA are being utilized to provide a repository of high-quality digital learning resources, enabling resource- sharing among educators and students. Further, the data pertaining to learning outcomes of students of PM SHRI schools may be accessed at link: https://dashboard.parakh.ncert.gov.in/en. (c) & (d): Under PM SHRI scheme, a maximum of two schools per block/ULB are selected with an upper limit on the total number of schools across India. Further, a total of 794 PM SHRI schools have been selected from State of Telangana out of which 654 PM SHRI Schools are from rural areas and 50 PM SHRI schools are from aspirational districts.
