PMAY-U 2.0 IN ANDHRA PRADESH
NO. 163 SHRI MADDILA GURUMOORTHY :
Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC)
has recently approved 3.52 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 and if so, the number of houses, cities
covered and Central funds committed, specifically for Andhra
Pradesh;
(b) the total Central funds released to Andhra Pradesh under Pradhan
Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) Phases-I and II, the number of
houses completed and the number of such completed houses
currently lying vacant; and
(c) whether the Government has received representations to include
Amaravati land-pooling farmers as eligible beneficiaries under
PMAY-U 2.0 or under a special housing category and if so, the details
thereof along with the action taken thereon?

NO. 163* FOR 30.07.2026 REGARDING ‘PMAY-U 2.0 IN ANDHRA PRADESH’
(a) : Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0), a
total of 16.20 lakh houses have been sanctioned in different Central
Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) meeting across the
country with the Central Assistance of ₹23,383 crores, including
₹882.32 crores for the State of Andhra Pradesh for construction of
61,084 approved houses. Of this, a total of 2.12 lakh houses have been
sanctioned in the recent CSMC meeting held on 17.06.2026 during which
12,370 houses for 107 cities with ₹185.55 crore Central Assistance was
sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh.
(b) : Based on the project proposals submitted by State of Andhra
Pradesh, a total of 19.07 lakh houses have been sanctioned under
PMAY-U, of which 3.71 are non-starter houses. Against the 15.36 lakh
started houses, a total of 11.38 lakh houses have been completed and
10.75 lakh houses are occupied, so far. Further, under PMAY-U 2.0, a
total of 61,084 houses have been sanctioned in the State of Andhra
Pradesh, out of which 43,947 houses have been grounded. Of these,
1,980 houses have been completed/ delivered to the beneficiaries.
(c) : As per the scheme guidelines of PMAY-U 2.0, priority has been
given to the eligible beneficiaries of the Special Focus Group identified
under PMAY-U 2.0, namely the street vendors under PM SVANidhi
scheme, Safai Karmis, different artisans under Pradhan Mantri-
Vishwakarma scheme, Anganwadi workers, Building and Other
Construction Workers, Residents of Slums/Chawls etc. The land pooling
farmers are not included in the special focus group under PMAY-U 2.0.
