(a) the name and the details of the projects which have been sanctioned and
implemented under, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) during
the last five years, State wise;
(b) the steps taken by the Government for implementation of sanctioned projects;
(c) whether any project is running under this scheme in Bihar; and
(d) if so, the details of schemes which are being implemented in West Champaran,
Bihar?

(a) and (b): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry
and Dairying has been implementing the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
(PMMSY) with an estimated investment of ₹20050 crore with effect from the financial
year 2020-21 for holistic development of fisheries and aquaculture sector in the
country. This scheme is designed to address the critical gaps in fish production and
productivity, quality, technology, post-harvest infrastructure and management,
modernisation and strengthening of fisheries value chain, establishing a robust
fisheries management framework and fishers' welfare. The Department of Fisheries,
Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, based on the proposals
received from various State Governments, Union Territories and other End
Implementing Agencies, has so far approved fisheries development proposals worth
Rs.21,274.16 crore with central share of Rs. 9,189.79 crore underthe Pradhan Mantri
Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The State-wise details of the projects approved
during the last five years (FY2020-21 to FY2024-25) under PMMSY are furnished at
Annexure-I. The progress of the projects sanctioned under PMMSY are periodically
monitored by the Department of Fisheries, Government of India.
(c) and (d): The details of projects running under PMMSY in Bihar as reported by the
Government of Bihar are furnished at Annexure-II and details of the projects
implemented under PMMSY in West Champaran District of Bihar as reported by the
Government of Bihar are furnished at Annexure-III.
