Parliament Question: PNG Connections to Households of Andhra Pradesh

SHRI PRABHAKAR REDDY VEMIREDDY: पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ी Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has fixed any target for providing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to households of Andhra Pradesh; (b) if so, the details thereof along with the target fixed to achieve the same by the year 2030; (c) whether it is a fact that as of 31 March, 2024, about 2,75,500 houses have been provided PNG connections and if so, the details thereof, district-wise; and (d) whether it is true that no connections were provided during the years 2024-25 and 2025-26 and if so, the reasons therefor? ANSWER पेट(cid:332)ोिलयम और (cid:366)ाकृ ितक गैस मं(cid:361)ालय म(cid:336) रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी ((cid:373)ी सुरेश गोपी) MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS (SHRI SURESH GOPI) (a) to (d): Providing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections is part of the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network, which is carried out by the entities authorized by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) as per Minimum Work Program (MWP) and techno- commercial feasibility. In the state of Andhra Pradesh, PNGRB has authorized 10 Geographical Areas (GAs) for development of CGD Network with MWP target of 83,61,290 Domestic PNG connections to be completed by March 2032. As on 31.05.2026, the CGD entities have provided 2,98,111 PNG Domestic (D) connections in the state of Andhra Pradesh. District-wise progress of PNG (D) connections in state of Andhra Pradesh as of 31.03.2024 is at Annexure.
