Parliament Question: Port Development under Sagarmala in Andhra Pradesh

SHRI APPALANAIDU KALISETTI: Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state: प(cid:419)न, पोत प(cid:464)रवहन और जलमाग (cid:91) म(cid:287)ं ी (a) the total number of projects taken up in Andhra Pradesh under the Sagarmala Programme, including the number of projects currently in the planning, implementation and completed stages, year-wise and district-wise; (b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilized for port modernization and new port development in Andhra Pradesh, specifically for enhancing the global standing of Visakhapatnam Port, year-wise; and (c) the number of candidates especially from Andhra Pradesh, who have received maritime-specific skill training under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY)and the total number of successful placements achieved in the State, district-wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a) to (b) Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹ 272 crore under Sagarmala scheme to 9 projects worth around ₹ 1,286 crore in the State of Andhra Pradesh. These projects are related to Ro-Pax and passenger jetties, fishing harbours, port modernization and skill development. The details of these 9 projects funded under Sagarmala scheme is available at Annexure-I.
