Parliament Question: Post-Matric Scholarship Disbursements for SC Students

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA | MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 286 TO BE ANSWERED ON 21.07.2026 POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENTS FOR SC STUDENTS 286. SHRI NAVASKANI K: Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has recorded significant growth in scholarship coverage for Scheduled Caste (SC) students, if so, the details thereof; and (b) whether Post-Matric Scholarship disbursements for SC students have reached record levels and Pre-Matric Scholarship enrolment has witnessed substantial growth and if so, the details thereof ? : ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT (SHRI RAMDAS ATHAWALE) (a) & (b): Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) implements Centrally Sponsored Schemes namely ‘Post-Matric Scholarships for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Pre- Matric Scholarships for Scheduled Caste (SCs) & Others through the State Governments/Administration of Union Territories. The Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for SCs and Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme for SCs and others; were last revised in 2020-21 and 2021-22 respectively. Under these schemes, Central Share is released through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) mode from FY 2022-23 under Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme for SCs & others and from FY 2021-22 under Post-Matric Scholarship scheme for SCs in the Aadhaar seeded bank account of the eligible applicants.
