ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. PEMMASANI CHANDRA SEKHAR) (a) The number of Post Offices currently operating from departmental buildings and rented premises in urban and rural areas, State, region and category-wise are at Annexure – I. (b) The number of new Post Offices, Sub-Post Offices likely to be opened during the coming year, State-wise are at Annexure – II. (c) The Government is providing postal services with its vast network of 1,64,999 Post Offices across the length and breadth of the country. (d) & (e) The number of residential colonies available for Postal employees, State & region- wise and its adequacy, are at Annexure – III.
