Will the Minister of Jal Shakti be pleased to state:
(a) the financial assistance extended to the State of Maharashtra under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi
Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) during the last three years;
(b) the current status of the special package announced by the Central Government for pending irrigation
projects in the State, especially for the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions; and
(c) whether Government plans to allocate any new additional funds to increase irrigation coverage in
Maharashtra and promote micro irrigation under 'Per Drop More Crop'?
ANSWER

(a) Central assistance provided during last three years i.e. 2022-23 to 2024-25 under different
components of PMKSY is given below.

(b) Total eight (08) Major and Medium Irrigation (MMI) Projects and 83 Surface Minor Irrigation
(SMI) Projects have been included under special package to Maharashtra, out of them three (03) MMI
and all 83 SMI projects fall under Vidarbha and Marathwada region. Three (03) MMI and 73 SMI
projects have been completed.
Time extension of the Special package to Maharashtra, has been granted up to March 2027 for
completion of balance projects.
(c) Rs. 909.79 crore central assistance has been provided to Maharashtra during 2022-23 to 2024-25
under Per Drop More Crop component, which was earlier under PMKSY and now being implemented
under Pradhan Mantri-Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojna (PM-RKVY).
During the current financial year 2025-26, an amount of Rs. 286.36 crore has been allocated under
PM-RKVY for implementation of PDMC scheme and Rs. 150.85 crore has been sanctioned till date to
the state of Maharashtra.
