SHRI G LAKSHMINARAYANA: SHRI TANGELLA UDAY SRINIVAS: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) the details of number of minority heritage sites, places of worship and pilgrimage sites identified for preservation, restoration or development under various Government schemes during the last ten years, State/UT-wise; (b) the details of funds sanctioned, released and utilised for such projects during the said period, State/UT and year-wise; (c) the details of number of proposals received from States/UTs for preservation or development of minority heritage sites, along with their present status; and (d) whether the Government proposes to introduce a dedicated scheme for preservation, restoration and promotion of minority heritage sites and pilgrimage destinations and if so, the details along with timeline thereof ? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) There are 3686 centrally protected monuments/sites under the jurisdiction of to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the country including minority heritage sites, (d) places of worships and pilgrimage sites. Conservation and preservation of these monuments/sites is a regular process and is taken up as per the requirement and availability of resources subject to the guidelines of National Policy for Conservation, 2014. Details of the funds allocated and expenditure incurred on conservation, preservation and development of these monuments/sites are given at Annexure-I.
