Primary Agricultural Credit Societies in Belagavi
2084 Shri Iranna Kadadi:
Will the Minister of Cooperation be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACSs) in the Belagavi district that
have been fully computerized as of February, 2026;
(b) the details of the hardware and software support provided to these PACSs to function
as Common Service Centres (CSCs);
(c) the status of the training provided to the PACSs staff in digital accounting and banking
operations;
(d) the measures taken to link the PACSs with the District Central Cooperative Bank
(DCCB), Belagavi for seamless fund transfer; and
(e) Government's initiative to transform PACSs into multi-service entities offering agri-inputs
and storage facilities?
ANSWER

(a) As per information received from the State, the sanctioned number of Primary Agricultural
Credit Societies(PACS) in Belagavi district is 1158 and out of these sanctioned PACS,
hardware has been delivered in all the PACS. Out of these 1158 PACS, Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP) solution has been provided in 1004 PACS.
(b) and (c) Karnataka has informed that total 1158 PACS have been provided with hardware
such as Desktop, Multifunctional device(Printer, scanner, copier), Physical VPN device,
Biometric scanner, and UPS; out of which 743 PACS are functioning as Common Service
Centers (CSCs) to provide various facilities to rural population. Staff in 1158 PACS in Belagavi
district have been trained on digital accounting and financial operations.(d) As per information received from the State, Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank
has provided micro-ATMs for 100 PACS initially for seamless fund transfer. Belagavi District
Central Cooperative Bank is regularly making efforts for bringing all the PACS in the district
to act as Business Correspondent of the Bank through micro-ATM.
(e) To support transformation of PACS as MSC (Multi-Service Centre), the NABARD
Regional Office had sanctioned refinance to 1123 PACS in the State of Karnataka under
Special Refinance Facility Supports (SRS) for Transformation of PACS as MSC, out of which
169 PACS pertain to Belagavi District.
As per information received from the State, in Belagavi District, under Agri Infra fund scheme
of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, 165 PACS have been provided loan by
Belagavi District Central Cooperative Bank to create storage facility. 200 PACS have been
working as Kissan Samriddi Kendras to provide fertilizers and agri-inputs to farmers.
