PROCUREMENT THROUGH GeM
3234. SHRI NEERAJ DANGI
Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY be pleased to state:
(a) the total value of procurement made through Government e Marketplace (GeM) during
the last three years;
(b) the number of sellers currently registered on the GeM and the number of sellers out of
them belonging to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) category;
(c) whether Government is implementing any special scheme to enhance the participation
of small and rural entrepreneurs through GeM; and
(d) whether Government has any plan to expand the GeM platform internationally to
promote exports?

(a) The total value of procurement made through GeM during the last three financial years is as
under:

(b) As on 9th March 2026, a total of 24,60,079 profile completed sellers are registered on the
GeM portal, out of which 11,12,302 sellers belong to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
(MSME) category.
(c) GeM has implemented the following to enhance participation of MSME on GeM:
i. GeM has integration with Udyam database to verify and update status of sellers as
MSMEs.
ii. In case of direct purchase from Marketplace, buyers are provided with the marketplace
filters to identify the products offered by MSEs.
iii. In line with Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) order,
2012 functionality provided for reserving the bid for procurement from MSEs, giving
purchase preference and relaxation in EMD(Earnest Money Deposit)/prior
experience/turnover.
(d) The functionality of Global Tender Enquiry has been operationalized on GeM portal to allow
participation of international bidders.
