MAHIMA KUMARI MEWAR: Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AI\D EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has any targeted schemes or programs for nomadic and seminomadic tribes such as Raika, Banjara or Gadolia Lohar communities in Rajasthan; (b) if so, the details of such schemes implemented during the last five years, including support for housing, livelihood and education; (c) whether community-based asset creation or skill training has been integrated into these schemes; and (d) the number of beneficiaries identified and assisted in Rajasthan under such schemes, district- wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AI\ID EMPOWERMENT (sHRr B.L.YERMA) (a) & (b): The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Communities is implementing a Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) for the Development and Welfare of Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Communities from the financial year 2021-2022 including Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Communities such as Raika, Banjara or Gadolia Lohar Communities in Rajasthan. The Scheme provides support for: (i) Educational Empowerment: By giving them financial assistance for free coaching which will enable them getting admission in good institutes/employment in public and private sector (ii) Health: Ayushman Cards are being distributed among DNT communities (iii) Livelihoods: SHGs have been formed in DNT communities clusters to enable them improve their economic condition (iv) Land and Housing: Facilitates to provide houses to DNT communities under PMAY- G/PMAY-U, other government schemes.(c): One of ,the objectives of the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) is to take initiatives to save their traditional art and facilitate their marketing linkages under livelihood component. This is facilitated through self help groups in order to boost their livelihood opportunities. (d): Livelihood Component of SEED is being implemented in 20 districts of Rajasthan. Under free coaching component,23 DNT communities students have been given free coaching and under livelihood component, 799 Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed so far, which benefited 10,104 beneficiaries.
