SHRI ARVIND GANPAT SAWANT: Will the Minister of PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS be pleased to state: प(cid:517)न, पोत प(cid:303)रवहन और जलमाग(cid:330) मं(cid:361)ी (a) the key features of the Sagarmala Project along with the targets that Government has set thereunder; (b) the details of the progress of the Sagarmala Project indicating the particular projects approved and completed thereunder in Maharashtra; (c) the amount of funds allocated, released and utilized for Sagarmala projects in Maharashtra during the last five years, year-wise; (d) the steps taken to achieve the targets of the scheme within the stipulated time; and (e) the measures taken by the Government to address challenges relating to law, land acquisition and forest clearances to ensure smooth implementation of the project? ANSWER MINISTER OF PORTS, SHIPPING AND WATERWAYS (SHRI SARBANANDA SONOWAL) (a): Sagarmala is a central sector scheme of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways with the target to promote port-led development in the country. Under Sagarmala scheme, the ministry provides financial assistance under 5 pillars namely, Port Modernization, Port Connectivity, Port-Led Industrialization, Coastal Community Development, and Coastal Shipping & Inland Water Transportto the implementing agencies like States/ UTs Governments, Major Ports and other organisations. (b) & (c): As on date, 31 projects costing ₹2,041 crore have been approved for financial assistance under Sagarmala scheme in the state of Maharashtra. Out of these, 20 projects have been completed and 11 projects are under implementation.The details of these 31 projects including projectstatus, project cost, funding share under Sagarmala scheme, and fund released is available at annexure. (d) & (e): Regular meetings are held with the implementing agencies and Govt. of Maharashtra for timely approvals and resolution of issues. Further, the ministry hold meetings of Maritime States Development Council (MSDC) and National Sagarmala Apex Committee (NSAC) involving the central line ministries and maritime States/UTs to address challenges relating to law, land acquisition and forest clearances regarding project implementation.
