Parliament Question: Progress of scheme on enhancement of competitiveness in Indian Capital Goods Sector

SHRI LAHAR SINGH SIROYA: Will the Minister of Heavy Industries be pleased to state: (a) the progress achieved under Phase II of the scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector, including total financial outlay and the 29 projects sanctioned so far; (b) the State-wise distribution of the sanctioned projects, covering Centres of Excellence, Common Engineering Facility Centres, Testing and Certification Centres, Industry Accelerators and Qualification Pack initiatives; (c) the number of the sanctioned projects completed and operational so far; (d) whether the Ministry has undertaken any impact assessment regarding employment generation and strengthening of India’s capital goods manufacturing ecosystem; and (e) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEAVY INDUSTRIES (SHRI BHUPATHIRAJU SRINIVASA VARMA) (a) to (c): Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector- Phase-II has a total financial outlay of Rs. 1207 crores with budgetary support of Rs. 975 crore. Total 29 projects with project cost of Rs. 891.37 crores and budgetary support of Rs. 714.64 crore have been sanctioned so far. Under the Scheme, Project Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) has been constituted for each project in order to review the progress of the project. *******
