This document summarizes the progress of projects in Solapur under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and provides an update on AMRUT 2.0 initiatives in Maharashtra, as of August 21, 2025. The information is presented in response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 4782.
Under AMRUT, Solapur received the following projects: one water supply project (₹68.88 crore), one sewerage/septage management project (₹180.24 crore), and three green spaces/park projects (₹4.5 crore). All green space and water supply projects are completed. The sewerage/septage management project, referred to as SAAP (Solapur Seweraeg Septage), is currently under implementation and expected to be completed by December 2025.
AMRUT 2.0, launched on October 1, 2021, focuses on making cities self-reliant and water-secure, with an emphasis on universal coverage of sewerage/septage management in 500 AMRUT cities, water body rejuvenation, and development of green spaces. It promotes convergence with other missions like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U). Under AMRUT 2.0, the State of Maharashtra has undertaken 286 projects worth ₹30,505.50 crore. These include 117 water supply projects (₹15,829.04 crore), 48 sewerage/septage management projects (₹12,951.40 crore), 96 water body rejuvenation projects (₹1,535.87 crore), and 25 green spaces/park projects (₹189.18 crore).
Notably, no new projects have been specifically designated for Solapur City under AMRUT 2.0. Funds under both AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0 are not allocated on a city/ULB-wise or component-wise basis. States/UTs have the authority to select, appraise, prioritize, and implement projects under AMRUT 2.0.

Will the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the progress of the eight AMRUT projects worth
approximately Rupees 2,000 crore in Solapur along with their
expected completion date;
(b) the details and status of key infrastructure components such as
water supply, sewerage and public amenities under AMRUT 2.0, and
their integration with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-
U) housing clusters; and
(c) the details of Central and State funds allocated and disbursed in
Solapur along with the percentage utilised till date on different
components?

(a) As reported by the State of Maharashtra, under Atal Mission for
Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) one water supply
project worth ₹68.88 crore, one sewerage/ septage management project
worth ₹180.24 crore and 03 green spaces and park projects worth ₹4.5
crore were taken up in Solapur city. The details of the projects is given in
Annexure.
(b) & (c) Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation
(AMRUT) 2.0 scheme has been launched on 01 October 2021 in all Urban
Local Bodies (ULBs)/ cities, enabling the cities to become ‘self-reliant’ and
‘water secure’. Providing universal coverage of sewerage & septage
management in 500 AMRUT cities is one of the major focus areas of
AMRUT 2.0. Rejuvenation of water bodies and development of green
spaces and parks are other components of the Mission. AMRUT 2.0
promotes convergence with other related missions such as Pradhan
Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U). Under AMRUT 2.0, States/ Union
Territories (UTs) are empowered to select, appraise, prioritise and
implement the projects.

Under AMRUT 2.0, the State of Maharashtra has taken up 286
