(a) the details of funds sanctioned, allocated and utilized under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)
in West Bengal since 2019, year/district-wise;
(b) the number of schools that have received grants under SSA in Darjeeling and Kalimpong
districts since 2019;
(c) the details of projects and programs undertaken under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in the
above districts 2019;
(d) the details of schools selected under PM SHRI scheme in the above districts since 2019; and
(e) the details of funds allocated and projects implemented under PM SHRI scheme in Darjeeling
and Kalimpong districts?

(a): District-wise details of budget sanctioned and expenditure under Samagra Shiksha in West
Bengal since 2019 as provided by the State Government is annexed.
(b): The number of schools that have received grants under Samagra Shiksha in Darjeeling and
Kalimpong districts since 2019 is as under:

(c): The details of projects and programs undertaken under Samagra Shiksha in the Darjeeling and
Kalimpong districts as informed by the State Government include construction of one new school
building and repair of five school buildings. Provision of Textbooks for students from pre-primary
to Class VIII. 29 schools were covered under the CSS-VE scheme. 10,958 teachers were trained.
Classrooms were decorated thematically through BaLA. Provision of Aids and appliances to 187
CWSN students, and braille/large print textbooks to all CWSN students. 593 CWSN studentsreceived escort and transport allowance, and 600 CWSN girls were given stipend. Under Ananda
Parisar, the last period of each Saturday was used for co-curricular activities like life skills and
hackathons. Reading habits were promoted by linking schools with rural libraries. Shishu Sansad
was formed for students from Class V to X. Graduation Ceremony was observed during Students’
Week to felicitate promoted students. Under YuWaah, soft skills on financial literacy and digital
productivity were provided through digital platforms (P2E).
(d) & (e): States and UTs along with KVS/NVS/NCERT are required to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L),
Ministry of Education, Government of India, for implementation of PM SHRI scheme. The State
of West Bengal has not signed MoU for PM SHRI scheme yet with DoSE&L, therefore, PM-
SHRI scheme is not being implemented in the state.
