Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to
state:
(a) the details of projects sanctioned and implemented under the
Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) in Amalapuram Lok Sabha
Constituency, Urban Local Body (ULB) and component-wise;
(b) the details of the funds sanctioned, released and utilised under
SBM-U in the said Constituency since its inception, year and
component-wise;
(c) the number of Individual Household Toilets (IHHL), Community
Toilets and Public Toilets constructed under the said mission in
the said Constituency;
(d) the details of the solid waste management infrastructure in the
said Constituency including the number and type of processing
facilities such as Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), composting
units, biomethanation plants and other waste treatment facilities
sanctioned and operational;
(e) the percentage of the households covered under door-to-door
waste collection, source segregation and scientific waste
disposal across ULBs in the said Constituency;
(f) whether any legacy dumpsites have been identified in the ULBs of
Amalapuram and if so, the status of their remediation along with
the details of the funds allocated and utilised in this regard; and
(g) the details of the capacity building initiatives undertaken under
the said mission in Amalapuram including the number of sanitation
workers trained or supported?

(a) to (f) : Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban is uniformly implemented in all
the urban areas of the country including Amalapuram Lok Sabha
Constituency. Under SBM-U, funds are released by Government of India to
the States/UTs on the basis of action plan duly approved by State Level
Technical Committee (SLTC) submitted by States/UTs which are further
transmitted to ULBs by the concerned State/UT Govt. Constituency-wise
details of financial assistance/projects approved is not maintained.

Out of the allocated funds of ₹1413.30 crores to the State of Andhra
Pradesh under SBM-U 2.0, action plans having central share of ₹1409.67
crores have been approved and ₹298.69 crores have already been claimed
by the State of Andhra Pradesh. Further, under Solid Waste Management
component of Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0, action plans approved
for remediation of 85.43 lakh ton of legacy waste, waste to composting
plants of 3064 tonnes per day (TPD), bio-methanation plants of 165 TPD,
Sanitary Landfill (SLF) of 1685 TPD, Construction & Demolition (C&D)
waste processing plants of 650 TPD alongwith 107 Mechanical Road
sweepers with total central share of ₹458.10 crores.
So far 2.43 lakh Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) have been
constructed against mission target of 1.93 lakh IHHLs and 17,799
Community Toilets/Public Toilets (CT/PTs) seats have been constructed
against the mission target of 21,464 CT/PTs. Further, as reported by the
State, 100% door to door collection is practiced in 98% of the wards i.e.
3,801 wards out of the total 3,872 wards and source segregation is being
practiced in 96% of the wards i.e. 3,730 wards out of total 3,872 wards.
As reported, processing of municipal solid waste is 85.47% i.e. out of total
6,210 ton per day (TPD) of waste generated, 5,308 TPD waste is

(g) Funds for Capacity Building (CB) is provided to State and cities to
create institutional capacity to effectively implement programmatic
interventions to achieve mission objectives. However, Sanitation being a
State subject under 7th schedule of the constitution, it is the
responsibility of State/ULBs to plan, design, execute, operate sanitation
projects and training of sanitation worker in the urban areas of the
country.
