GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF AYUSH LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 999 TO BE ANSWERED ON 24.07.2026 Promotion of Cultivation of Medicinal Plants in Ujjain †999. Shri Anil Firojiya: Will the Minister of AYUSH be pleased to state: (a) the details of the funds sanctioned and expenditure incurred by the Ministry in the Ujjain Parliamentary Constituency during the last five years; (b) the total number of AYUSH Health and Wellness Centres currently operating in the said constituency; (c) the total number of farmers in Ujjain provided assistance for the cultivation of medicinal plants; (d) whether there is any proposal for setting up an AYUSH Hospital/College in Ujjain and if so, the details thereof; and (e) the details of the future action plan of the Government for the expansion of AYUSH services in Ujjain? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (IC) OF THE MINISTRY OF AYUSH (SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) Under National Ayush Mission (NAM), as per the proposals received from the State through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs), an amount of Rs. 31439.679 lakhs has been allocated/ released as Central Share to State of Madhya Pradesh during the last five years. The State Government has reported an expenditure of Rs. 31439.679 lakh against this allocation. As reported by State Government of Madhya Pradesh, the details of the funds sanctioned and expenditure incurred in the Ujjain Parliamentary Constituency during the last five years is furnished at Annexure. (b) As reported by State Government, 24 Ayush Health and Wellness centers now renamed as Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM(Ayush)] are operational in the said constituency. 1(c) As reported by State Government, 120 farmers in Ujjain constituency were provided assistance for cultivation of medicinal plants under Devaranya Scheme. (d) Under NAM, as per the proposal submitted by Government of Madhya Pradesh through State Annual Action Plan (SAAP), one 50 bedded Hospital has been approved in Ujjain during 2025-26. (e) Public Health being State subject, the primary responsibility for expansion of AYUSH services in Ujjain district lies with respective State Government. However, under NAM, Ministry is supporting the efforts of State Government for development and promotion of Ayush systems as per the proposals received through SAAPs within exiting provisions of NAM guidelines. ***** 2Annexure The details of the funds sanctioned and expenditure incurred in the Ujjain Parliamentary Constituency during the last five years.
