SHRI AMARSING TISSO: Will the Minister of COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री) be pleased to state: (a) whether products from Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao have been identified under the Districts as Export Hubs Initiative, if so, the details thereof; (b) the details of export-oriented infrastructure or capacity-building support extended in these districts; and (c) whether ginger, turmeric, bamboo and agarwood from these districts have received export facilitation support, if so, the details thereof? ANSWER वाणिज्य एव ं उद्योग मत्रं ालय म ें राज्य मत्रं ी (श्री णिणिन प्रसाद) THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (c) The Government under the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) has identified Ginger, Pineapple, and King Chilli (Bhut Jolokia) as focus export products from Karbi Anglong district and has identified Ginger, Pineapple, Oranges, and Tea as focus export products from Dima Hasao district. To support export-oriented infrastructure and capacity building, District Export Promotion Committees (DEPCs) have been constituted, and District Export Action Plans (DEAPs) have been prepared for these districts. The nature of support extended includes: (i) Conducting training and awareness programs in both online and offline modes for farmers, MSMEs, artisans, and entrepreneurs. (ii) Organising buyer-seller meets to provide guidance on export procedures, quality standards, packaging, and marketing. (iii) Utilising the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) framework, to streamline trade finance and market access support; and, 1(iv) Expansion of postal export facilities for documentation, packaging, and small-parcel shipments, providing alternative channels during logistics disruptions. The Regional Authority of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade at Guwahati and the district administrations of respective districts conduct exporter awareness programs on logistics planning, export procedures, packaging norms, and compliance requirements. District-wise export data is regularly analysed to identify emerging challenges and enable responsive interventions. Export facilitation support has been extended to products such as ginger, turmeric, bamboo, and agarwood through seminars, workshops, and webinars. These initiatives focus on creating awareness regarding certification requirements, quality standards, and potential international markets. Notably, on March 02, 2026, the first consignment of 1.2 metric tonnes of GI- tagged ginger from Karbi Anglong was successfully exported to London, United Kingdom. ***** 2
