ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (f): The Ministry of Tourism promotes India in a holistic manner, through various initiatives under the Incredible India brand. As part of on- going activities; promotion of medical and wellness tourism in the country is also taken up. The Ministry of Tourism has developed a brand film promoting wellness tourism in India which has been widely disseminated to the travel stakeholders, overseas Indian Missions, line ministries etc to be played during various events to showcase the potential of the country as aWellness destination. Additionally, the Ministry also uses its social media handles to promote Medical and Wellness Tourism in India. The Ministry of Tourism organized interaction meetings on 18.03.2026 and 22.07.2026 with stakeholders including Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Ayush, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance etc regarding issues related to medical and wellness tourism. The Ministry of Tourism has not assessed the current scale and economic contribution of India’s medical and wellness tourism sector. The Ministry also does not maintain data on revenue earned through medical tourism. At present, there is no framework in the Ministry of Tourism to promote synergy between accredited super-speciality hospitals and traditional AYUSH-based wellness centres. The development of dedicated medical and wellness tourism hubs is being coordinated by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the administrative control of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. ********
