SHRI BHUMARE SANDIPANRAO ASARAM: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has identified new tourism circuits in Maharashtra, specifically in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, under the Swadesh Darshan or PRASHAD schemes; (b) the details of measures taken/being taken by the Government to promote eco-tourism and cultural tourism in the State; and (c) the details of works carried out by the Government so far? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (c): The Ministry of Tourism, through its ongoing Central Sector Schemes of ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’, ‘Swadesh Darshan (SD)’, ‘Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD 2.0)’, ‘Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD)’ a sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme and ‘Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI)’ supplements the efforts of the States/UTs by providing financial assistance for the development of tourism related infrastructure in consultation with them. Under the Culture & Heritage category of Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD), a sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan, the Ministry has sanctioned a project for “Development of Ahmednagar Fort at Ahmednagar, Maharashtra” at a cost of ₹25.00 crore. The works undertaken under the above mentioned Schemes include development and augmentation of tourism infrastructure such as tourist facilitation centres, illumination, landscaping, signage, last-mile connectivity, parking, public conveniences and other related amenities at sanctioned sites.The Ministry of Tourism as part of its ongoing promotional activities regularly promotes various tourism destinations and products of the country including eco-tourism and cultural tourism in the State of Maharashtra through promotional activities such as events, website, social media promotions, fairs and festivals, etc. The details of projects sanctioned in the State of Maharashtra under the above mentioned Schemes are annexed. *****ANNEXURE STATEMENT IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (c) OF LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.†4888 ANSWERED ON 23.03.2026 REGARDING PROMOTION OF TOURISM IN MAHARASHTRA RAISED BY SHRI BHUMARE SANDIPANRAO ASARAM i.
